Complete USTFCCCA ReleaseNEW ORLEANS – The United State Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees and 10 Lions earned All-Region honors.

Anthony Harris,
Dexter Lee,
Hendrik Nungess,
Matt Rich,
John David Rollins,
Luis Romero and
K'Don Samuels were nine of the 646 different student-athletes, who combined for 905 total awards. Rollins led the Lions with three honors with Nungess and Harris earning honors in two different events.
Brikel Bailey was one of the 619 different women student-athletes that combined for 911 total awards.
The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams. The regions used for this award match those used during the cross-country season, and student-athletes must come from USTFCCCA member institutions.
Dia was honored in the Discus. Gary, Harris, Lee and Rollins make up the 4x400 relay team that ranks second in the LSC with a 3:10.45. Harris also earned honors in the Long Jump after winning the LSC Championship with a 7.54m jump. Rollins also earned All-Region honors in the 100 and 400 meters.
Nungess ranks second in the LSC in the Javelin, with his school record of 62.06m. He also ranks third in the Decathlon. Rich is second in the Decathlon with 6746 points.
Luis Romero was honored in the 800m. He sits second in the LSC with a 1:50.13, which is a school record.
K'Don Samuels sits third in the LSC with a season-best height of 5.07m, which is also a school record.
Brikel Bailey sits 25th nationally with 2:11.28 in the 800m and sits second in the LSC with a hand timed 2:10.14 that she posted at the East Texas Invite.
