Commerce, Texas – Davarus Shores earned the first Lone Star Conference honors for the Lions in 2015 after claiming the league's Special Teams Player of the Week Monday.
 
Shores broke through the line and blocked a punt with 11:22 showing on the clock in the third quarter against then ranked No. 16 Angelo State. Dionte Taylor picked up the loose ball and fell into the end zone to give the Lions a 38-21 lead. The points held up to the game-winning points in the Lions' 38-35 win.
 
The block was Shores' fifth of his Lion career.
