Commerce, Texas – A&M-Commerce senior linebacker
Davarus Shores earned his second straight Lone Star Conference Special Teams Player of the Week award after another game-changing punt block.
Shores provided the Lions with a turning point in the game for the second straight game. The reigning LSC Special Teams Player of the Week broke through the line in the second quarter of a 14-10 game to block a West Texas A&M punt deep inside their own territory. After his punt block, the Lions score on a halfback pass to take a 21-10 lead and command of the game.
Shores also accounted for six tackles on defense in the game including a tackle for loss.
The senior has blocked a punt in back-to-back games after providing what held up to be the game-winning punt block and score versus Angelo State. Shores now has blocked seven kicks in his Lions career.
