Darrell Williams adds the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Small College Player of the Year award to his already impressive list of honors following the 2014-15 season.
Williams adds the honors after already notching Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-American after leading the Lions to their first 20-win season and first appearance in the NCAA in 10 years.
The senior forward was selected the South Central Region Player of the Year in addition to being chosen the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Williams led A&M-Commerce to its first 20-win season since 2004-05 as the Lions finished with a 24-8 record, losing to Angelo State in the first round of the South Central Regional.
He averaged 18.5 points and 12.4 rebounds per game, the latter figure third in Division II. He shot 56.2 percent from the floor (218-of-388) and 71.6 percent from the line (151-of-211). Williams recorded 23 double-doubles, which is second in Division II, and had 15-or-more rebounds in a game ten times and 20-or-more rebounds three times.
