Surrey, British Columbia – Former A&M-Commerce linebacker,
Davarus Shores, has signed to play with the British Columbia Lions out of the Canadian Football League.
Shores' inked a two-year rookie deal with BC. Shores will report for workouts Wednesday with training camp for first-year Lions starting on Thursday, May 26.

Shores, who walked on to the team in 2012 and redshirted, saw action in three seasons for the Lions racking up 64 tackles including 12.5 tackles for loss. He also was credited with one sack during that time frame. Shores also blocked seven kicks in his career.
Shores was an integral part of the Lion defense that anchored back-to-back Lone Star Conference Championships in 2014 and 2015 claiming the program's 21st and 22nd titles. The 2015 team made the NCAA Playoffs for the first time since the 1991 season. During his three years the Lions saw the biggest turn around recorded in the state of Texas. After going 1-9 in 2012, the Lions went 7-5 in 2013, 9-3 in 2014 and 8-4 in 2015.
The BC Lions are the oldest football team in the Canadian League and have won the league's championship, the Grey Cup, six times. In 2015, the Lions went 7-11 after a 9-9 season in 2014. BC last won the Grey Cup in 2011 capping off an 11-7 season.
