Lions Compete at Cowboy Jamboree
In one of the nation’s premier cross country meets on Saturday, at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s cross country team was 22nd overall and seventh among non-Division I teams.
Senior Tyler Tyndell led the Lions as he finished 97th overall and the 8k course in a season-best time of 25:58.50. Junior Brandon Womack finished 120th in a time of 26:27.30 and senior Gerardo Delafunete was 148th in 27:55.40.
Newcomers Ross Hicks and Nathan White finished 231st (28:50.50) and 242nd (29:27.10), respectively. Graduate student Logan Kelly was 245th in a time of 29:43.20.
On the women’s side, freshman Maci Bradford led the Lions for the third-straight meet. She crossed the line in a time of 20:52.30 to lead A&M-Commerce to a 24th-place finish.
Junior Kate Donovan was 195th in a time of 21:59.80 for the 5k course and freshman Jennifer Speer was 202nd in 22:47.20. Sophomores Gaby Tetrick and Jamie Hays were 207th (24:12.20) and 211th (25:51.80), respectively.
The next meet for the Lions will be the Lone
Star Conference Championships is in three weeks, October
24th, when they return to Canyon, Texas.
