A&M-COMMERCE XC TEAMS GARNER USTFCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC STATUS

COMMERCE, Texas -- Texas A&M-Commerce's men's and women' cross country teams have both earned All-Academic status by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.

The A&M-Commerce women's cross country team was one of 107 institutions representing 22 conferences to earn the nod. The Lady Lions posted a combined team GPA of 3.54, which tied for the 21st-highest team GPA among the women's recipients, and was one of just three Lone Star Conference schools to make the cut.

On the men's side, the Lions posted a combined team GPA of 3.27 and was one of just 68 Division II schools to earn the distinction. A&M-Commerce was one of only two LSC institutions honored, joined by Incarnate Word. The honor continues the academic accolades for the squad as senior Robert Reed was named to the LSC All-Academic Team.
