Opening Tip
A&M-Commerce finally takes to the court at the Field House this Wednesday, opening up both its 2011-12 home and Lone Star Conference schedule. The Lions play host to Midwestern State in a rematch of last year's 2011 LSC Championship quarterfinal game, tipping off at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30. A&M-Commerce then heads to Lawton, Okla., facing Cameron at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

But it has been the Mustangs that have had the upper hand in recent years, winning seven-straight over A&M-Commerce, including an 82-67 decision in last year's Lone Star Conference quarterfinal. Midwestern State has won nine of the last 10 against A&M-Commerce with the Lions' last victory over the Mustangs coming in an 87-61 victory in 2005 at the Field House.

Cameron has won the last two contests, including sweeping the Lions in 2011, but A&M-Commerce has had the upper hand in recent years, posting a 7-3 record in the last 10 meetings between the two, including having won six of the last seven games at Aggie Gym in Lawton.
Lions In Home, Conference Openers Under Walker
Since taking over the helm of the program in 2000-01, head coach Sam Walker and his Lions have fared well in their home openers. A&M-Commerce is 9-2 all-time in season-openers under Walker, including winning seven-straight from 2000-01 to 2007-08. The Lions have had a tougher go in Lone Star Conference openers, posting a 5-6 record under Walker, but have won their last two conference lid lifters, including a 73-55 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma in 2009-10 and a 68-63 decision at East Central in 2010-11.
Hambrick Establish His Reputation as Lion Three-Point King
Senior Brad Hambrick has been a constant in the Lion lineup for the past three seasons, and in the season opener of his fourth season in an A&M-Commerce uniform, he cemented his legacy in the Lion record book. Hambrick came into the season tied with Kevin Widemond (2006-08) for first all-time in career three-pointers made at 167, then moved squarely into first place with his three in the opening half at Southern Arkansas. This past weekend, Hambrick added nine more treys, including a perfect four-for-four against Arkansas-Fort Smith, giving him 180 for his career, as he leads the Lone Star Conference in three-point field goal percentage at 61.9%.

Looking Ahead
After the trip to Lawton, Okla., A&M-Commerce heads south to San Antonio for a Lone Star Conference showdown with Incarnate Word on Wednesday, December 7. The Lions then take a break from conference play, hosting Drury at the Field House on Saturday, December 10, tipping off at 3 p.m. It is the first game in a two-game homestand, facing Southern Arkansas on Tuesday, December 13 at 7 p.m.
