COMMERCE, Texas – A&M-Commerce senior linebacker Danny Mason has been invited to play in the 2013 Texas vs. The Nation game on Saturday, February 2nd at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas. Mason will be playing on the Texas roster as the game pits players either from the state of Texas or who played for a Lone Star state school against those from the rest of the nation.

But for the second-straight week, the Lions drop a heartbreaker in the fourth quarter, falling to the Wildcats 24-17 on Homecoming. The loss drops A&M-Commerce to 1-7 on the year and 1-5 in Lone Star Conference play.

But the Rams would outscore the Lions 17-3 in the second half, handing A&M-Commerce a heartbreaking 17-16 loss at San Angelo Stadium as A&M-Commerce drops to 1-6 overall and 1-4 in Lone Star Conference play.

COMMERCE, Texas -- Trailing by a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, A&M-Commerce rallied to tie the game with eight seconds remaining, then held off A&M-Kingsville in overtime to notch an emotional 21-14 victory on a rainy night at Memorial Stadium. The Lions halt a four-game skid, improving to 1-3 on the year and 1-1 in Lone Star Conference play, and capture the Chennault Cup for the first time since 2001.

The Lions drop to 0-3 on the year and 0-1 in LSC play while the Mustangs rebounded from their season-opening loss, improving to 1-1 on the year.

Representatives from all nine football playing schools were in attendance, with head coach Guy Morriss and senior defensive back Marlin Terrell representing A&M-Commerce.

BRYN ROY MAKES ROSTER SPOT WITH CFL'S MONTREAL ALOUETTES
A&M-Commerce will add to its lengthy resume of football players that went on to play at the professional level as linebacker Bryn Roy has earned a roster spot with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. Roy was the 34th player taken in the 2012 CFL Draft in May, selected in the fifth round by Montreal, and earned a spot on the Alouette’s 42-man official roster.

For the first time since 2007 and for the second time in program history, Texas A&M University-Commerce will be featured in a nationally televised game. The Lions’ showdown with Midwestern State at Cowboys Stadium on Thursday, September 13 has been selected as the Division II National Football Game of the Week and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
