Texas A&M University-Commerce opens up the 2012 season at home, hosting former Lone Star Conference rival Southeastern Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 1st.

Series Information
Saturday marks the 18th meeting between A&M-Commerce and Southeastern Oklahoma State with the all-time series deadlocked at 8-8-1. The Lions have won four of the last five against the Savage Storm, including a 19-14 victory in Commerce in 2010, and hold a 4-5-1 all-time mark at Memorial Stadium. Southeastern Oklahoma State's last victory also came in Commerce, defeating the Lions 28-24 at Memorial Stadium in 2008.

Morriss Returns For Fourth Season at Helm
A&M-Commerce head coach Guy Morriss begins his fourth season on the A&M-Commerce sideline and his 10th season overall. The former NFL offensive lineman, Morriss has compiled a 9-22 record (.290) in Commerce and is 36-76 (.321) as a head coach encompassing his time at Kentucky and Baylor. Morriss will have a handful of familiar faces at his side as both Dan Lounsbury (offensive coordinator) and Brian Williams (defensive coordinator) begin their fourth seasons with the Lions. In addition, Rod West (defensive backs) and Zach Jones (linebackers) are embarking on their second season as assistant coaches at A&M-Commerce while Morriss added Casey Carlo (defensive line), Doug Dennie (running backs) and Tim Brooks (wide receivers) to the staff.

2012 Home Schedules Feature LSC's Top Teams
The 2012 home schedule presents a unique challenge for A&M-Commerce as four of the top five teams in the preseason Lone Star Conference poll will take to the turf at Memorial Stadium. Abilene Christian, West Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Tarleton State, picked second through fifth in the preseason poll, all visit Commerce in 2012, giving fans the chance to see the conference's top teams on their home field.

Lions to Make History in San Antonio on September 8
The 2012 Lions will make program history on Saturday, September 8th when A&M-Commerce makes the trip to the Alamo City for a meeting with UT-San Antonio at the Alamodome. The game against the Roadrunners marks the first time in program history the Lions will go head-to-head with a Division I FBS school as UT-San Antonio is currently a member of the Western Athletic Conference before making the jump to Conference USA in 2013. Kickoff at the Alamodome is set for 1 p.m. with an alumni reception planned for Friday night in San Antonio.

Fifth Annual Harvey Martin Classic Returns to Cowboys Stadium
A&M-Commerce is gearing up for the fifth installment of the Harvey Martin Classic, with this year's game set to be bigger than ever before. For the second-straight year, the game, named after former Lion All-American and Super Bowl MVP Harvey Martin, will be played at Cowboys Stadium as part of the Lone Star Football Festival as A&M-Commerce and defending LSC champion Midwestern State kick-off the three-day event Thursday, September 13 at 7 p.m. This year, however, Lion fans across the nation can see their team play as CBS Sports Network has selected the game as the Division II National Game of the Week and will air live on their network to a national audience.
