POTTSBORO, Texas – Tuesday marked the end of the Texacoma Chevy Dealers Intercollegiate Tournament. The Lions had a much better day fighting off the rough weather and shooting an impressive 12-over 300. This moved the Lions into 6th place beating out Southeastern Oklahoma State and Southern Arkansas who they were tied with yesterday; A&M-Commerce would also pull in front of Incarnate Word who was ahead by a single stroke yesterday.

After a tough start yesterday, the Lions would end the tournament in 6th-place giving them a solid start to their spring season. Marcus Sanna, who placed in third yesterday for the Lions, came roaring back as he shot 1-under par and placed in the top 20th for the first time of the spring season. Sanna was followed closely by a fantastic performance by Cade Grimm who was the Lions leader yesterday. Grim nailed down a 3 over par for the final round as he ended his afternoon shooting 14-over 230.

Brent Reagan
and Brett Bradshaw would lead the Lions in the number one and two spots for the 5 individuals competing. Brent Reagan scored the number one spot as he tied for 31st place shooting 16-over 232, while Bradshaw nailed down the number two spot for individuals as he tied for 35th shooting 18-over 234.

The Lions would place sixth, but they would still be separated by 40 strokes with the first place Arkansas Fort Smith. Josh Buchanan would be the undisputed winner of the tournament shooting 2-over 218 claiming the first place trophy, followed by a 3-way tied for second place between Justin Ary (Paris JC), Sam Jernigan (St. Mary's), and Travis Chrietzberg (Southern Arkansas).

Arkansas Fort Smith would take the tournament with a dominating performance by their top 4 shooting 22-over 886. Paris Junior College would squeak by in a close second (32-over 896) as they slightly edged out St. Mary's by one stroke 33-over 897.

The Lions will be off until March 5th until they gear up to make the trip down to the Grey Rock Golf Club for the St. Edwards Invitational. The Lions young team seems to keep improving each tournament they compete in, so be prepared for a solid outing at the St. Edward's Invitational.
