DURANT, Okla. – A&M-Commerce junior C.J. Clem shot a career-low 70 over the final 18 holes of the 2012 Texoma Championship as A&M-Commerce finishes the day right where it started, placing 11th out of 14 teams.

Clem, playing in just his second tournament after transferring to the Lions this summer, entered the day tied for 13th in the individual standings with a 5-over 149, but saved his best for last. Clem closed out the tournament with a 2-under 70 in round three, the lowest round of his Lion career, and moved up to a tie for seventh overall, finishing five shots back of the individual winner. It is Clem's second top-10 finish of the season after placing eighth at last week's Territory Fall Classic.

Freshman Kason Childress closed out the tournament with a 5-over 77, posting a 19-over 235 to finish in sole possession of 41st-place. Cade Grimm also notched his lowest round of the week, shooting a 4-over 76 to finish tied for 46th overall with a 22-over 238. Patrick Russo (34-over 250) and Jarret Martin (39-over 255) rounded out the A&M-Commerce scorecard.

A&M-Commerce opened up the final round of the Texoma Championship in 11th-place among the 14-team field, and that's right where the Lions finished, but not before shaving 14 shots off their second round total. A&M-Commerce posted a 19-over 307 in round three, closing out the 54-hole tournament with a 74-over 938. The Lions finished five shots out of their third-straight top-10 finish, trailing 10th-place Sterling College (69-over 933).

Oklahoma Christian captured the 2012 Texoma Championship in convincing style, posting an 8-over 872 and besting second-place Southwestern Oklahoma State (24-over 888) by 16 shots. Northwood (30-over 894) finished third with Newman (42-over 906) and Paris J.C. (46-over 910) rounding out the top-five.

Individually, Southwestern Oklahoma State's Taylor Howie won the individual title with an impressive 2-under 214, besting Oklahoma Christian's Jared Consoli (even-par 216) by two shots and finishing three shots ahead of three golfers who tied for third with a 1-over 217.

A&M-Commerce returns to the links for its fourth-straight week of golf next week, making the trip to Amarillo for the Ryan Palmer Invitational at the Tascosa Country Club. The opening 36 holes will be played on Monday, October 8 with the final 18 holes scheduled for Tuesday, October 9.
