A&M-COMMERCE MEN SET TO HOST THE CLASSIC AT THE TRIBUTE

THE COLONY, Texas -- A&M-Commerce is gearing up to host the second annual Classic at the Tribute, taking place Monday and Tuesday at the Tribute Golf Club in The Colony, Texas. The Lions will go head-to-head against nine schools in the final event of the 2012-13 fall season.

The 36-hole tournament gets underway Monday morning at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start, followed by the final 18 holes Tuesday at 8 a.m. The course will be a par-72, 6,535-yard layout at The Tribute, a course patterened after some of the most famous and challenging holes of the Scottish links.

A&M-Commerce welcomes nine other schools to The Colony, including Cameron, Dallas Baptist, East Central, Henderson State, McMurry, Midwestern State, Newman, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Texas A&M International. The Lions will play two teams at the Classic, as will Cameron and Dallas Baptist, providing the 13-team field.

2011 marked the first installment of the fall host tournament for A&M-Commerce as the Lions placed fifth, highlighted by an individual championship for Chris Leasor who posted a 10-under 134 with Marcus Sanna tying for 26th with a 4-over 148.

In this year's installment, C.J. Clem, Cade Grimm, Sanna, Kason Childress and Patrick Russo will comprise the A&M-Commerce "A" team, with Brett Bradshaw, John Moug, Seth Maxwell, Brent Reagan and Kyle Middleton making up the "B" team. Derek Rucki, Jarret Martin and Yogi Gallegos will compete as individuals for A&M-Commerce.

A&M-Commerce's "A" team will tee off from holes 1-3, paired up with Cameron and Newman, while the "B" squad gets underway on holes 12-15, competing against the "B" teams from Cameron and Dallas Baptist. Full results will be posted at LionAthletics.com as they become available.
