Buddy Jones is in his second season as a part-time assistant with the Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s and women’s golf team.

In addition to his golf coaching responsibilities, he is also involved with the game operations for home A&M-Commerce football and basketball games. 

Jones has received from A&M-Commerce his bachelor’s and master’s degree as well as his administrator’s certificate. He worked in public education for 31 years and served as the boys’ and girls’ golf coach at Commerce HIgh School for several years prior to his retirement.

After his retirement, he served as manager of Sand Hills Country Club for eight years. 

He is married for the former Sarah Sheely and they have a son, Forrest and a daughter Sheely House.
