A&M-Commerce Men's 4x400-Meter Relay Team Posts NCAA Provisional Mark at UIW Last Chance Meet

The Texas A&M University-Commerce men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the University of Incarnate Word Last Chance Meet on Thursday.

The Lions' men's 4x400-meter relay team (Akeem Jackson, Albert Sinegal, Joel Day and Cairo Thornton (pictured) posted a NCAA-provisional mark with a time of 3:14.58. The time is currently the 33rd-best among the 38 teams that have provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

In the men's 1,500-meter run, junior Robert Reed was second overall and posted a time of 3:59.59 and in the 800-meter run, junior Brandon Womack was fourth and crossed the line in 1:56.28. 

On the women's side, senior Sunny Henderson recorded a throw of 115-5 to finish third in the javelin.

The championship field for the 2010 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be announced on Wednesday, May 19th at noon.
