MOMENT #10: TRACK AND FIELD NOTCHES PAIR OF LSC INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS
Our number 10 moment of the 2011-12 season takes us back out to the track at Memorial Stadium as the best track and field athletes in the Lone Star Conference descended on Commerce for the 2012 Lone Star Conference Track and Field Championships. With the eyes of the entire conference watching, a number of Lions posted memorable performances, including a pair taking home individual LSC titles.

A&M-COMMERCE 2012 MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD SEASON RECAP
A&M-Commerce closed out the 2012 track and field season with a handful of impressive performances. The Lions finished the year with 100 top-five performances, including 12 first-place showings, highlighted by a first-place showing by Khalil Henry at the 2012 Lone Star Conference Championships, hosted by A&M-Commerce at Memorial Stadium.

FOUR LIONS GARNER USTFCCCA ALL-SOUTH CENTRAL REGION HONORS
Four A&M-Commerce track and field athletes have been named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Central All-Region team, announced earlier this week. Isaac Chelimo, Khalil Henry and Fredrick Kipsang were selected on the men’s side while Whitney Hargraves represented the Lion women’s team.

TRIO OF LIONS GARNER ALL-CONFERENCE TRACK AND FIELD HONORS
Three A&M-Commerce track and field athletes have been named to the 2012 All-Lone Star Conference team, announced today by league officials. Junior Whitney Hargraves and sophomore Abigail Leaupepe-Tele represent the Lion women’s team while Khalil Henry was selected from the men’s squad.

A&M-Commerce made the most of its final event of the regular season as eight different Lions place in the top-five in five different events at the Incarnate Word Last Chance Meet at Benson Stadium.

A&M-COMMERCE FINISHES SIXTH AT LONE STAR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Serving as the host institution for the 2012 Lone Star Conference Championships, A&M-Commerce held its own agains their conference counterparts, finishing sixth in the standings with 54.5 points over the three-day meet.

LUNDY SITS EIGHTH AFTER FIRST FIVE EVENTS OF DECATHLON
The opening day of the 2012 Lone Star Conference Championships is in the books with a pair of Lions having strong showings in the first half of both the heptathlon and decathlon. Senior Aysha Moultrie currently sits second in the heptathlon after four events with 3,046 points while freshman James Lundy is eighth in the decathlon, registering 3,163 points.

PAIR OF LIONS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-LONE STAR CONFERENCE SELECTIONS
A&M-Commerce sophomores Alex Kimp and Hank Smith were among the 11 student-athletes named to the men's track and field Academic All-Lone Star Conference team, announced today by league officials.

JOHN DAVID ROLLINS LEADS A&M-COMMERCE AT TEXAS STATE BOBCAT CLASSIC
In its final meet before hosting the 2012 Lone Star Conference Championships, A&M-Commerce posted another strong showing at the Texas State Bobcat Classic. 10 Lions posted top-10 finishes in seven different events at Bobcat Stadium, competing against a handful of Division I teams from across the Lone Star state.

A&M-COMMERCE POSTS STRONG SHOWING AT MICHAEL JOHNSON CLASSIC
Competing against some of the top runners in the region, A&M-Commerce notched an impressive showing at the Michael Johnson Dr. Pepper Classic at the Hart-Patterson Track Complex on the campus of Baylor University. 10 Lions finished among the top-10 in their respective events, including a number of season-bests on the year.

19 LIONS POST TOP-FIVE FINISHES AT UT-TYLER MARC RANDLE CLASSIC
A&M-Commerce continued its strong showing in the 2012 track and field season as 19 different Lions notched top-five showings in 11 different event at the UT-Tyler Marc Randle Classic held at the Brookhill School in Bullard.

HANDFUL OF SEASON MARKS FALL AT MEAN GREEN SPRING INVITATIONAL
A number of season-low marks were set as 12 A&M-Commerce athletes finished among the top-10 in eight different events at the 2012 North Texas Mean Green Spring Invitational at Fouts Field.

13 LIONS POST TOP-FIVE FINISHES AT OKLAHOMA BAPTIST BISON OPEN
A&M-Commerce made a last minute change to the schedule, opting to compete in the Oklahoma Baptist Bison Open and made the most of its trip to Shawnee. 13 different Lions finished among the top-five in nine different events, including a pair of first-place finishes.

17 LIONS RECORD TOP-20 FINISHES AT 2012 BOBBY LANE INVITATIONAL
A&M-Commerce wrapped up competition at the 2012 Bobby Lane Invitational, hosted by UT-Arlington at Maverick Stadium. The Lion men had a strong showing, competing against a handful of some of the top teams in the region, with 17 competitors finishing among the top-20 in 10 different events, including four top-10 finishers.

A&M-COMMERCE POSTS STRONG SHOWING AT HENDRIX INVITATIONAL
A&M-Commerce avoided the rains of east Texas, competing in the 2012 Hendrix Invitational in Conway. The Lions had a productive showing, seeing 14 different athletes finish among the top-five in nine different events.

NINE LIONS NOTCH TOP-FIVE FINISHES AT INCARNATE WORD INVITATIONAL
One week after hosting its Preseason Invitational, A&M-Commerce took to the track at Benson Stadium in San Antonio, competing in the two-day Incarnate Word Invitational. A handful of Lions posted top-five finishes, finishing with nine in seven different events.

A&M-COMMERCE OPENS 2012 SEASON HOSTING LION PRESEASON INVITATIONAL
The 2012 A&M-Commerce men’s track and field season got underway on the track at Memorial Stadium as A&M-Commerce played host to the Lion Preseason Invitational. 20 Lions recorded top-10 finishes on the day including 12 that placed among the top-five.

A&M-COMMERCE UNVEILS 2012 TRACK AND FIELD SCHEDULE
Texas A&M University-Commerce has released its 2012 men's and women's track and field schedule as the Lions begin competition in March. The schedule is highlighted by the 2012 Lone Star Conference Championships, which will be hosted by A&M-Commerce at Memorial Stadium on May 3-5, 2012.

The Texas A&M University-Commerce track and field team is holding open tryouts on Friday, October 7 at Memorial Stadium for the upcoming 2012 track and field season.
