FOUNTAIN, JACKSON, ROSS HEAD TO NATIONALS IN COLORADO
COMMERCE, Texas –- A&M-Commerce will have three representatives this week at the 2013 NCAA Division II Track and Field National Championships as Dakota Fountain, Vanessa Jackson and Ashley Ross will compete for the Lions at the Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl on the campus of Colorado State-Pueblo.

10 LIONS RECEIVE USTFCCCA ALL-SOUTH CENTRAL REGION RECOGNITION
COMMERCE, Texas -- The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its 2013 All-Region teams as 10 Lions have garnered 11 All-South Central Region recognition. The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region’s top three have earned the All-region distinction for this season.

KIMP, FOUNTAIN PULL IN LONE STAR CONFERENCE POSTSEASON HONORS
RICHARDSON, Texas -- The Lone Star Conference has released its postseason accolades for the 2013 outdoor track season with a pair of Lions being recognized for their performances. Alex Kimp was tabbed the LSC's Men's Track and Field Academic Athlete of the Year, while Dakota Fountain was named an All-Lone Star Conference honoree.

FOUNTAIN WINS LSC CROWN IN LONG JUMP AS MEN FINISH FIFTH
Canyon, Texas – Dakota Fountain continued his strong sophomore season with a LSC Championship in the Long Jump (7.63m, 25’1/2”). Fountain had already clinched a spot at the Division II Championships so his season will continue for another event

TOWNSEND AND WILDER PODIUM ON DAY TWO OF LSC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The second day of competition brought the preliminaries for most of the running events and the finals for the steeplechase, 10,000m and some field events. The Lions placed multiple athletes in the finals of their respective disciplines and saw a few Lions crack the podium.

A&M-COMMERCE HEADS TO CANYON FOR 2013 LSC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Lion men and women track and field teams will travel to West Texas A&M this weekend to take part in the Lone Star Conference Championship. The Lion men will look to improve on last season’s sixth place finish as the women look to improve on their seventh place finish from one season ago

ROLLINS AND STEWART SET CAREER BESTS AT BOBCAT RELAYS
San Marcos, Texas - John David Rollins and Avion Stewart set new career bests in the 100m dash and 110m hurdles respectively. Daniel Dia set a season best and both relay teams set season best marks on Saturday.

ROSS AND HANNA 1,2 IN DISCUS AND RICH WINS JAVELIN
Shawnee, Okla.- Ashley Ross and Taney Hanna finished first and second in the discus for the Lion women at the Mt. SAC Relays. Matt Rich recorded the victory in the Javelin throw for the win by more then three meters in front of second place.

MEN RECORD EIGHT OVERALL WINS; WOMEN RECORD SEVEN AT HOME
Commerce, Texas – The Lions as a team won 15 events overall at the East Texas Invitational on Saturday at memorial stadium. The 15 is the most events won by the combined teams so far this season.

DAKOTA FOUNTAIN PICKS UP LONE STAR CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONORS
COMMERCE, Texas -- A&M-Commerce freshman jumper Dakota Fountain has been named the Lone Star Conference Men's Field Co-Athlete of the Week, announced today by league officials. It is the first weekly honor of his career, sharing the award with A&M-Kingsville's Jordan Yamoah and Angelo State's Austin Slone.

BAILEY AND FOUNTAIN SHINE AT NORTH TEXAS CLASSIC
Denton, Texas –Junior sprinter Brikel Bailey set a new school record in the 800m dash with a 2:17.71 to finish fifth in race. Dakota Fountain was not going to be outdone in the Long Jump posting a 24’7” jump that put atop the Division II standings.

Shawnee, Okla. – The Lion men and women track and field teams competed at the Bison Open hosted by Oklahoma Baptist. Both teams recorded multiple top three finishes.

LIONS FINISH THIRD IN SPRINT MEDLEY, 110-METER HURDLES AT TEXAS RELAYS
Austin, Texas – Only a few members of the men’s track and field participated in the Texas Relays on Friday at the University of Texas. All athletes showed well for the Lions. Lion athletes recorded one top five finish and two other top 10 finishes.

Arlington, Texas – The women’s team had four top ten finishes on the track and two in the field events. The men’s team had seven top ten finishes on the track and three finishes in the field events.

Both of the A&M-Commerce track and field teams posted top five finishes as teams in Stephenville with the men finishing second among 13 teams and the women fifth among 15 teams.

COMMERCE, Texas -- The 2013 A&M-Commerce track and field season gets underway this weekend as the Lions will take to the track at Memorial Stadium, hosting the Lion Spring Invitational. Field events kick off the day, getting underway at 10 a.m., followed by the running events beginning at 12:30 p.m.
