LION MEN PLACE NINTH, WOMEN 15TH AT MISSOURI SOUTHERN STAMPEDE

Result: Men finish ninth out of 16 teams, Women finish 15th out of 18 teams
Top Men's Finisher: Dorian McCardic – 26th – 26:12.35 (8k)
Top Women's Finisher: Tori Lenz-Selvera – 81st – 19:51.49 (5k)

JOPLIN, Mo. – The A&M-Commerce men's and women's cross country competed at the Missouri Southern State XC Invitational on Saturday September 15 coming away with ninth and 15th place finishes respectively.
Leading the Lion men was freshmen Dorian McCradic with a 26th place finish in the 8k run with a time of 26:12.35. Fellow freshmen, Luis Romero crossed the line in 51st with a time of 26:46.88. Fredrick Kipsang recorded a time of 27:01.79 good enough for 63rd overall. Other Lion runners that had a top 100 finish were juniors; Everett Wilder, Raymond Mata and Alex Kimp. Wilder, 77th, recorded a time of 27:18.64 with Mata finishing right behind him with a time of 27:20.54. Alex Kimp clocked a time of 27:31.84 putting him 88th overall. Other runners for the Lions were Tyler Hemenway, Ellias Garza, Ross Hicks and Maron Weladi.
Tori Lenz-Selvera was the high finisher for the women team with an 81st place finish with a time of 19:51.49. Not far behind Lenz-Selvera was teammate Caroline Cotsakis in 84th recording a time of 19:55.59. Finishing outside the top 100 were Mary Hammons, Brooke Farris, Jennifer Speer, Julieta Esquivel, Mackenzie Myers, Katia Romero, Kelli Hardenbrook and Kendall Christmas.
The Lions return to action in two weeks when they travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on September 29.
