DENTON, Texas – A&M-Commerce had reigning Lone Star Conference tournament champion Texas Woman's on the ropes, trailing 51-49 with 12 minutes remaining in the game. But the Pioneers hit some clutch shots down the stretch, pulling away over the final eight minutes to defeat the Lions 72-58 at Kitty Magee Arena.

Danielle Dixon and Apreia Booker led the charge offensively for A&M-Commerce, finishing with 17 points each. Booker had 15 of her career-best 17 points in the opening half for the Lions while Dixon notched 10 in the opening stanza. Dixon wouldn't only be an offensive force to be reckoned, but she would also come in second in rebounds snatching 10 rebounds for the Lions.

Breanna Harris also had a big night, posting her third double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds, setting a new personal best and finishing two boards shy of cracking the Lion single-game top-10.

The Lion starters dominated while they were playing but did not get much help from the Lion bench. The Lion starters attributed to 57 total points of the Lions 58 point performance, and had 41 of the 48 rebounds of the game. The Lion's bench was lacking tonight only contributing 1 point to the 57 point performance from the 5 starters.

A&M-Commerce could not handle Brittney Nuzum the hot shooter from Texas Woman's University. Nuzum scored 21 total points and knocked down 5 of her 6 three pointers in the game. Jessica Hanna notched a double-double and led the Pioneers with 13 rebounds and scored 17 points causing trouble for the Lions all night.

The Lion's will continue their road stint taking on Texas A&M-International at a neutral site on December 17th at 3:00 PM. The Lions will meet the Dust Devils at Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas. Texas A&M-International is currently 6-5 and just defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville.
