Game Against Dustdevils Moved to Mountain View College
Due to a scheduling conflict with A&M-Commerce's graduation activities Saturday, the Lions' game against Texas A&M International has been moved to Mountain View College in Dallas. The time of the game has also been changed from a 6 p.m. tip-off to a 3 p.m. start. Mountain View College is located on the corner of W. Illinois Ave. and Duncanville Road off of Loop 12, about 10 minutes southeast of downtown Dallas. For more information, contact the A&M-Commerce Athletic Department at (903) 886-5558.
Lions Previous Play
The Lions had their hands full these last two games facing off against a seasoned Incarnate Word team and the reigning champions Texas Woman's University. The Lions had a tough game against Incarnate Word falling, 79-49. Breanna Harris and Danielle Dixon kept the Lions in the game generating more than half the team points (25). The Lions would then go to Denton, Texas to face an even tougher Texas Woman's team and holding their own all evening. The Lions would give the Pioneers a run for their money pulling within 2 points with 8 minutes left in the game. Breanna Harris would highlight this night as well pulling in 17 rebounds and scoring 14 points for her third double-double with the Lions. A&M-Commerce would ultimately drop the game 72-58.

Lions Find Their Big Two
Danielle Dixon is undoubtedly the driving force of the Lions offense notching the top scorer in 5 out of the 6 game the Lions have played. Dixon has averaged 13.4 points per game making her a force on the Lions offense. Dixon has drawn numerous fouls by every team and is unstoppable at the free throw hitting 84.2 percent of her free throws (16-19). Dixon's highest scoring game for the Lions this season came in the opener against Southeastern Oklahoma (Nov. 15) scoring 17 points, and she repeated the performance this past week against Texas Woman's University drop 17 points on the Pioneers.
Breanna Harris has now notched three double-doubles for the Lions this season, and seems to be improving each week. Harris has seen drastic improvements as she continues to learn the Lions system, and recently had her best game against the reigning LSC champions Texas Woman's University. Harris snatched 17 rebounds and scored 14 points against a 7-2 Pioneers team. Harris leads the Lions in rebounds averaging an impressive 8.9 rebounds per game.

Coaches Corner: Nicole Anderson
Nicole Anderson begins her third season as the head women's basketball coach at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Before coming to A&M-Commerce in the fall of 2009, she spent the past five years as the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach at Division I member Long Beach State University. Anderson also served as the CEO for Hoop School, a non-profit organization located in Long Beach, Calif., which she founded in 2004. Hoop School teaches middle and elementary age students' using fundamentals of basketball to improve fitness and nutrition to combat childhood obesity. Anderson earned her bachelor's degree from UCLA in 1993, where she starred on the basketball team and was a four-year team captain, a Pac 10 all-conference selection and named to the conference's academic honor roll. She was named one of the 15 greatest players in UCLA women's basketball history and a Naismith Award candidate as a senior, which is given to the top player in the country, and still ranks in the program's top five in both steals and assists.

Looking Ahead
A&M-Commerce will have a small break after they play Texas A&M-International, and then return home to close out their non-conference play against Newman University. The Lions will meet the Jets Thursday, December 29th at 5:30 PM at the Field House in Commerce, Texas.
