COMMERCE, Texas – The Cameron Aggies survived the massive second half surge by the Lions off another huge Breanna Harris double-double. The Lions fell 63-51, but not before they gave the Aggies a huge second half hurdle. The Lions will stay at the Field House to host the Cardinals of Incarnate Word on February 1st at 6:00 PM.

Breanna Harris had another huge night for the Lions, tying her season high in rebounds (17) and falling one short of her season high in points with 19. Harris had an unprecedented 14 rebounds in the first period, picking up the Lions sluggish offense.

The Lions had a disastrous first half, scoring a season low of 10 points and going 3-38 hitting a season low 7.9%. The Lions ended the half 18 points behind the Aggies. Harris accounted for 6 of the 10 points for the Lions in the first half of the game. Harris had 9 of her offensive rebounds in the first half of the game racking up 14 rebounds when the half ended.

Cameron demonstrated why they are #11 in the country in scoring defense when they dropped 12 points off of turn overs in the first half. The Aggies kept dumping the ball off to Sabelle Diata, who dominated the Lions in the first half with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

The second half was all A&M-Commerce, the Lions battled back from their huge deficit by going on a 20-8 run on the Aggies making it, 30-36. Freshman Forward La'Tisha Hearne, would lead the charge for the Lions scoring 12 of her 14 points in the second half and grabbing 5 rebounds. Danielle Dixon would come to life for the Lions scoring 9 points all in the second half, after a relatively quiet first half.

The Cameron offense was outscored 41-35 in the second half, but the Aggies had four players who scored in the double digits. Alexis Williams was the leading scorer for the Aggies, but the Cameron offense was led by Sabelle Diata's double-double. Diata ended her evening with 12 points and 12 rebounds at the Field House.

The Lions will be looking to carry their second half momentum over to their next game against the University of Incarnate Word. The Lions already took a tough hit earlier this season from the Cardinals in San Antonio, 79-49. The Lions will get the home court advantage this time around and hopefully deliver the knockout punch to the 10-9 Cardinals. A&M-Commerce will be welcoming the Cardinals on February 1st at 6:00 PM to the Field House.
