COMMERCE, Texas – In a final effort to walk off the Field House Court as winners, the Lions would come out victorious off a big last minute three pointer by Danielle Dixon in the closing seconds of the final game of the season. The Lions would end their seemingly endless season of bad luck with a strong win over Angelo State, 64-61.

Breanna Harris tore the Angelo State defense apart posting another big double-double and ensuring Apreia Booker that she would be able to celebrate a win on her final game for the Lions on Senior Night. The Lions would finish their season strong and end their current 21 game slide that they were on this season.

Coming into tonight's game, the Lions posted an unbelievable 45 game Lone Star Conference losing streak that stretched over 3 seasons. In an effort to send Apreia Booker off in style, the Lion starters posted an impressive 43 points led by Harris's 19 point performance.

Harris ended her evening with 19 points, 2 assists, and 10 rebounds for the Lions. Eight of the rebounds Harris had came in the form of offensive rebounds.

A&M-Commerce got off to a slow start in the first period falling behind 7-2 at the 15:13 mark off a couple of jumpers by Paige Weishuhn.

Apreia Booker would come up big for the Lions on her Senior Night as she led the Lions back with a couple jumpers, tying the game 9-9 at the 8:45 mark. Booker would then continue her domination as she stole the lead back for the Lions at the 7:32 mark off of a free throw (12-11).

The Lions would begin to pull away off a Bianca Stevenson jump shot as they started hitting all gears accelerating to a 10 point lead, which was finished off by a Devin Oliver three pointer at the 2:41 mark (23-13).

Unfortunately, the Lions could not hold down Angelo State as they battled back hitting 2 three pointers and a jump shot, getting the Rambelles within 2 points. Ashley James would drop a 3 point bomb on the Lions with 7 seconds left in the half giving the Rambelles the 24-23 edge.

After battling back and forth in the opening minutes of the second period, Apreia Booker would strike again for the Lions tying up the game at the 16:40 mark with a big jump shot making the game, 31-31.

Leah LeMaire would continue her domination of the Lions over the course of the second period, knocking down big shots left and right ending her second half with a total of 11 points. LeMaire would go 5-5 on free throws and shoot 3-5 in the field.

The Rambelles couldn't hold on when the Lions started pushing back. There was a big momentum switch late in the second period off a couple of La'Tisha Hearne jump shots tying the game back up (45-45).

Breanna Harris and La'Tisha Hearne would lead the Lions down to the wire in the closing minutes of the game. Hearne and Harris came together and scored 12 points in the last 6 minutes of the game putting the Lions in the position to win with a 61-61 score at the 1:00 mark.

Danielle Dixon would put the nail in the coffin on the Rambelles as she dropped the biggest shot of the game with 39 seconds left in play. Apreia Booker fittingly would feed the ball to Dixon giving her the final assist of the game as time expired. The Lions would walk away with their second win of the season as the game would end 64-61 and A&M-Commerce would get their first win in almost 3 months.
