Opening Tip: The Lions travel to first place Abilene Christian for the final time as Lone Star Conference rivals as the Wildcats will move to the Division I level and the Southland Conference next season. A&M-Commerce will look to win back-to-back home games against the Rambelles of Angelo State. The Lions have not beaten Angelo State in back-to-back meetings since winning nine in a row from 1994-99.

Series Score: A&M-Commerce will be looking for its first in against the Wildcats since the 2008-09 season. The Lions have not fared well over the course of the all-time series with ACU holding a career 10-51 record. The Lions have been 4-5 against Angelo State since losing five in a row between 2004 and 2009. Angelo holds a 37-22 record all-time versus Commerce.

The Wildcats have a very balanced attack in terms of scoring with four players averaging over 10 points per game so far this season. ACU had been able to jump out on opponents early in games, outscoring their opposition by 40 in the first half so far this season. Mackenzi Lankford was named Preseason Player of the Year in the Lone Star Conference but has seen limited action so far this season. Kelsey Smith is currently second in the conference in field goal percentage only behind Lacy Reinke of Cameron. Smith is also fifth in the conference in rebounds per game averaging nine per game.

• #12 - Leah Lemaire: 12.2 ppg / 4.5 rpg / 45% FG / 73% FT
• #15 - Haylee Oliver: 12.5 ppg / 8.7 rpg / 84% FT / 36% 3FG

Lemaire and Oliver have been on fire so far in conference play averaging 21 and 16 points per game respectively in Angelo's two conference games so far. Holt and Oliver have been averaging a double-double in both conference tilts as well. The Rambelles will be looking to avenge the defeat they suffered in the regular season finale in Commerce last season, 64-61.

Harris leads LSC: A&M-Commerce junior forward currently leads the conference in rebounding. Harris is currently at 12.8 rebounds per game so far this season.

Freshmen Impact: The new faces on the Lions roster have made their presences known in opening five games. Currently Amber Carver is second in the LSC in blocks per game with 2.0 bpg. Audree Butts and Carver are second and third on the team in scoring. Symone Brown is making the most of her nine minutes per  game averagin 2.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and just under one assist per game. 

Master Thieves: Currently there are three Lions averaging over 1.5 steals per game. Danielle Dixon, 2.3, Kourtney Briscoe, 1.8, and Aubree Butts with 1.5. All three are currently in the top 12 of the LSC.

Carver named to LSC Honor Roll: Had a solid week in helping the Lions to a 1-1 mark, defeating Texas Woman's in the LSC opener before falling to Division I Sam Houston State...Carver notched her first double-double of her Lion career with an 11-point, 10-rebound performance against the Pioneers, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor...Five of her rebounds were offensive as she also added an assist, a steal and a block...Against the BearKats in Huntsville, Carver led the Lions with 10 points and six rebounds, hitting four of her six shots from the floor with two assists and a block...She is averaging 9.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in 16 minutes per game for the Lions.

Briscoe's increased role
: After being a role player for the 2011-12 season, Kourtney Brisoce has emerged as an intrical part of the Lions this season. Currently the junior guad is averaging 6.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, 3.2 assits and 1.75 sterals per game. Brisoce has not turned the ball a lot so far this season sporting a 1.62 assist to turnover ratio.

Who is Next: After this first full week of LSC action the Lions will take a step outside the conference for two games before the holidays. They travel to Arkadelphia, Ark. for games aginst Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State on December 15 and 18.
