Opening Tip: After a 1-1 week last week the Lions host Abilene Christian and travel to Angelo State trying to get to .500 in Lone Star Conference play and stay in the sixth spot one game ahead Angelo State.

Series Score: The Lions have not beaten the Wildcats as a conference opponent since the 2001-02 season when Charles Mancil beat ACU at the Field House, 70-57. The Lions last beat the Wildcats in the LSC tournament in 2009. Abilene Christian has won six in a row against Lions over the past four seasons. A&M-Commerce holds a 10-53 all-time record against ACU. The Lions won the last time Angelo State and A&M-Commerce faced off, last game of 2010-11 season. A&M-Commerce has won 22 games and lost 37 all-time against the Rambelles.

Abilene Christian dropped their last game against Eastern New Mexico. The Wildcats had won eight in row after a set back against Midwestern State back in early January. Lankford is currently seventh in the LSC in scoring and Marquez is right behind her in eighth. Kelsey Smith is also in the top fifteen in scoring at 12th. Smith is also eighth in the LSC in rebounding with 6.7 per game average. Marquez is seventh in the LSC in free throw percentage and sixth in steals at 1.7 per game clip. As a team ACU is ranked first in the LSC in points per game, scoring an average of 75.2. The Wildcats are also first in scoring margin at over 14 a game compared to their opponents.

Angelo State offensively is averaging just over 59 points per game which outs them seventh in the LSC one spot behind A&M-Commerce. The Rambelles have been better defensively in terms of opponents ppg than the Lions, giving up only 60 per game compared to the Lions 65. Oliver and Holt are ninth and tenth in the LSC in scoring. Holt and Oliver are fourth and fifth in rebounding. With her 48% from the field, Holt also ranks in the Top 10 in the LSC in field goal percentage. Angelo sits just 1/2 game behind A&M-Commerce in the standings. 

Harris among LSC leaders: A&M-Commerce junior forward currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring, 14.4 ppg, and third in rebounding with 10.0 rebounds per game. She also leads the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 5.4.

Double Figures: With her 9 point performance against Tarleton State on Saturday night Breanna Harris had her double figures steak of seven straight games snapped. Harris had scored in double doubles in four straight games.

S.W.A.T.S.: The Lions are currently fifth in the LSC in blocks as a team with a 2.2 average.  

Master Thieves: The A&M-Commerce Lions rank currently third in the conference as a team in terms of steals with 9.7 per game. This is with just a single player ranking in Top 15 in steals individually, La'Tisha Hearne

Big on the Boards: So far this season the Lions are the best rebounding team in the conference averaging 42.3 rebounds per game. Those 42.9 rebounds lead to a +3.1 rebounding margin per game, which puts them fourth in the LSC. The Lions are first in offensive rebound percentage, .425, A&M-C is the only team over 40 percent.

Turnover Margin: The Lions are currently fifth in the LSC with 1.41 turnover ratio. But the Lions have had 15 plus turnovers in their last three games and do not have more than 10 assists in those three games.

Three-Point Struggles: This season the Lions have struggled shooting this season especially from behind the three point line. A&M-C is currently last in 3PT percentage per game at just over 20% on the season.   

Not So Charity Stripe: The Lions are currently last in the conference in free throw percentage as a team, shooting 55.6 percent from the line. Symone Brown leads the team with a 70% clip from the line.

Career High: Freshmen forward Symone Brown set a new career high with 16 points last time out against Angelo State.

Who is Next: After the road game in San Angelo on Saturday the Lions will make another trip south to San Antonio to face Incarnate Word for the last time as LSC members on Wednesday the 13th. The Lions will return home to face A&M-Kingsville on Saturday the 16th at the Field House.
