Opening Tip: The Lions kickoff the Lone Star Conference tournament in the two-seven game against Abilene Christian at 12 noon on Wednesday in Allen, Texas. This is will be the first post season game for A&M-Commerce since 2008-09 season when they advanced to the semifinals losing to Central Oklahoma. The Lions had reached the LSC Tournament in the four years prior to the 2008-09 season as well. The winner will take on the winner of the West Texas and Angelo State game in the semifinals on Friday, March 8 at noon.
Come Catch the Lions in Allen: A&M-Commerce fans have a chance to see both the men and women's teams in action in the LSC tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 season as both will make the trek to the Allen Event Center. The women face Abilene Christian at noon on Wednesday, March 6, followed by the men against Midwestern State at 8:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Allen Event Center box office, with single-session tickets costing $15 for adults and $10 for students. In between sessions, there will be a gathering for A&M-Commerce fans at Kelly's at the Village, just down the road from the arena, from 3:00-5:00.

Series Score: A&M-Commerce is 8-16 (.333) all-time in the LSc Tournament. The Lions haved face the Wildcats four times and have dropped three compared to one win. That was back in the 2009 Quarterfinals with the Lions coming away with a two point win, 76-74.

The Wildcats comes into the LSC Tournament as the two seed after losing a tiebreaker with Midwestern State atop the standings. Abilene Christian received votes last week in the USA Today Coaches Poll and is currently ranked second in the South Central region behind only Colorado Mesa of Rocky Mountian Athletic Conference.
Harris among LSC leaders: A&M-Commerce junior forward currently ranks fifth in the conference in scoring, 15.0 ppg, and third in rebounding with 10.2 rebounds per game. She also leads the conference in offensive rebounds per game at 5.4. Harris is tied for 11th in the country with 14 double-doubles. Harris is also 25th in the country with 10.2 rpg average.
Double Figures: After a 15 point 13 rebound performances against Eastern New Mexico in the season finale Breanna Harris has scored in at least 10 points in six of her last eight games and has 20 games this season of at least 10 points. Danielle Dixon has also scored in double figures in 10 straight games after only having three before this current streak.
Dixon Rolling: Junior guard Danielle Dixon has been rolling over the past six weeks. She is averaging 17 point per game since the Texas Woman's game back on Jan. 31. Dixon averaged 4.4 points on the season before this six week stretch.
S.W.A.T.S.: The Lions are currently sixth in the LSC in blocks as a team with a 2.0 average.
Briscoe's Rut: The junior guard has been held scoreless in her last three games and has only scored 13 points in her last nine games. She is averaging just 2.2 assists per game in those contests.
Hearne's Last Five: Sophomore forward La'Tisha Hearne is averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 rebounds over her last five games for the Lions.
Master Thieves: A&M-Commerce rank currently fifth in the conference as a team in terms of steals with 9.2 per game. The Lions do not have a single player in the top 10 in steals.
Big on the Boards: So far this season the Lions are the best rebounding team in the conference averaging 43.4 rebounds per game. Those 43.4 rebounds lead to a +4.5 rebounding margin per game, which puts them third in the LSC. The Lions are first in offensive rebound percentage, .425, A&M-C is the only team over 40 percent.
Brown's Last Six: The freshmen forward is averaging 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds over her last six games. Brown also set a career high in rebounds with 13 against West Texas.
Three-Point Struggles: This season the Lions have struggled shooting from behind the three point line. A&M-C is currently tenth in LSC in 3PT percentage per game at 22.7% on the season. A&M-C is 279th in 3PT shooting in the country. The Lions have only shot over 40% four times this season.
Squeeze the Orange: The Lions have held onto the ball over their last three games. They have not turned the ball over more than 10 times in each game after having 50 turnovers in their previous two games.
Not So Charity Stripe: The Lions are currently last in the conference in free throw percentage as a team, shooting 59.6% from the line. The last seven games have been better for the Lions. Over that span the Lions have shot over 70.9%. The Lions rank 271th in country in FT shooting.
Head Coach Nicole Anderson: Anderson enters her fourth season at the helm of the A&M-Commerce Lions women's basketball program. Her team will look to improve from the 2-24 season they suffered each of the last two seasons and move up the conference standings in 2012-13. Anderson will look to the new comers to help out in production to go along with Breanna Harris and Danielle Dixon.
LSC Tourny Notes: Eastern New Mexico is one of just eight schools to reach their conference tournament with 20 losses on the season. The others are Arkanasas-Monticello (GAC), West Florida (Gulf South), Southwest Minnesota State (Northern Sun), East Stroudsberg (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference), Mercyhurst (PSAC), Concord (West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and Alderson-Broaddus (WVIAC).
