WOMEN'S GOLF ADDS A PAIR OF EARLY SIGNEES FOR 2013

COMMERCE, Texas – Texas A&M University-Commerce head golf coach Louie Bledsoe today announced two additions to the Lion women golf program. Zoey Daneshfar and Emily Taylor have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the golf team in the fall of 2013.

"We are looking forward to having Zoey and Emily join us in the fall," said Bledsoe. "They have both had successful high school careers and will add some depth to our program. Zoey will bring a zest for the game of golf and Emily will come with a quiet but strong determination to be a winner. They will be welcome additions to our women's golf team."

Daneshfar is from Trophy Club and is in her fourth season as a member of the varsity golf team at Byron Nelson High School. A three-time all-district, all-region and all-state selection, she has helped lead the Bobcats to both the district and regional championship for the past three seasons. Daneshfar has also played a key role in helping Byron Nelson High to three top-five showings at the state championship, including a runner-up showing in 2012.

Taylor has been a four-year contributor at Howe High School, being named a three-time all-state selection. She has helped lead the Bulldogs to the state championship tournament in each of the past three seasons, finishing fourth in 2012. Taylor has finished fourth in the individual standings at the Region II-2A tournament for the past three seasons and placed eighth in the UIL state tournament as a junior.

A&M-Commerce is coming off a strong fall season in which the Lions placed in the top-10 in four of their five fall tournaments, including a fifth-place showing at the Angelo State Concho River Classic. Chantry McMahan has once again paced the women, notching a pair of top-five finishes during the fall season, including a third-place showing at the season-opening West Texas A&M Lady Buff Stampede.

The Lions return to action on February 10 and 11, 2013, traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., for the 2013 World Golf Invitational. A&M-Commerce then heads to Pottsboro to host the annual Texoma Chevy Dealers Lion Intercollegiate March 11-12 at Tanglewood Resort.
