LION WOMEN HEAD TO POTTSBORO FOR 2013 LION INTERCOLLEGIATE

COMMERCE, Texas – After a month-long hiatus, the A&M-Commerce women's golf team returns to action, preparing to host its home tournament up at Tanglewood Resort. The 2013 Texoma Chevy Dealers Lion Intercollegiate will be held Monday, March 11th and Tuesday, March 12th, with one of the deepest fields in tournament history.
21 teams will descent on Lake Texoma as the tournament is the second part of the new sponsorship deal with Texoma Chevy Dealers, with the men having competed in the Crawford Wade Intercollegiate February 25th and 26th. 2013 also marks the 13th installment of the annual tournament A&M-Commerce host event.
A&M-Commerce will go head-to-head against a pair of Lone Star Conference tournament teams in Cameron and Texas A&M-Kingsville, as well as Arkansas Tech and Arkansas-Fort Smith, both of which finished among the top-five of the team standings in 2012. East Central, Ouachita Baptist, Park University, Rogers State, St. Mary's, Southwestern Oklahoma State and Tyler Junior College will make a return trip to Tanglewood with newcomers Arkansas-Monticello, Colorado State-Pueblo, Henderson State, Jacksonville College, Lubbock Christian, McMurry, Northwood, Southern Arkansas and Texas Wesleyan rounding out the field.
The Lions placed eighth in last year's event, led by Chantry McMahan tying for 25th overall with a 21-over 165, one shot better than Haley Green's 22-over 166, tying for 28th overall. The entire A&M-Commerce starters will return to Tanglewood as Sara Diaz, Holly Jenkins and Chelsea McCoy make up the Lion scorecard along with freshman Ali Leasor.
The 36-hole tournament gets underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning with Tuesday's final round getting underway at 8:30 a.m. Full results of the 2013 Texoma Chevy Dealers Lion Intercollegiate will be posted at LionAthletics.com with Twitter updates available @Lion_Athletics.
