MINDE TABBED LONE STAR CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

COMMERCE, Texas -- A&M-Commerce sophomore forward Brionna Minde has been named the Lone Star Conference's Offensive Player of the Week. It is Minde's first Player of the Week honor and the first for the A&M-Commerce program since Meagan Lasley picked up the award in 2009.

Minde notched her first two goals of the season against West Texas A&M Friday evening at Lion Soccer Field, including the game-winner off a header from teammate Jade Bell in the 66th minute. The pair of goals helped A&M-Commerce to a 3-2 victory over the Lady Buffs in its LSC opener, and fittingly Minde accomplished the feat on her 20th birthday. She also had three shots, including one on goal, in the Lions' 1-1 tie against Eastern New Mexico Sunday afternoon.

For the season, Minde has started all six games for the Lions at forward, compiling the pair of goals on 14 shots. For her career, Minde has played in all 24 games of her A&M-Commerce career, tallying three goals and an assist with 32 shots.

Minde and the Lions begin a crucial five-match Lone Star Conference road trip this week, beginning in San Angelo against Angelo State at 4 p.m. Friday. A&M-Commerce then heads south to the Alamo City, facing Incarnate Word at noon Sunday.
