Recapping last week's action
The Lions dropped a pair of games versus Angelo State and Incarnate Word last week. On Friday versus Angelo State the Lions found themselves on the short end of a three goal run in under five minutes to drop the match, 2-1. A strong second half by the Cardinals of Incarnate Word led to a three goal half and an easy 4-1 victory of the Lions on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
After being voted number two in the preseason poll the Mustangs have struggled so far this season. The six losses so far have matched their total from all of last season.  The Mustangs have been close in their past three games buy coming short in all three losing each by one goal.  Currently five different players have tallied one goal for Midwestern and two players are tied with an assist each. Goalkeeper Mallory Whitworth has started and played every minute in goal for the Mustangs and currently ranks fifth in the conference in saves per game. The Mustang face Abilene Christian before hitting the road to take on A&M-Commerce on Friday and Texas Woman's on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Currently with five loses, the preseason favorite to win the conference has more than doubled the amount of losses compared to last season. Andrea Carpenter (#2), Julie Coppedge (#5) and Krysta Grimm (#3) are tied for the team lead with two goals. Stephanie Heron (#21) and Ashley Craig (#13) are the only players to record an assist so far this for ACU. The Wildcats are only 1-3 away from home and have been out scored eight to three in those games.
