SAN ANGELO, Texas- Unlike their last game against Incarnate Word the Lions struggled to get the offense going but that was not case early when Kate Hyde connected on a shot in the 10th minute that was set up Anitra Wright after a corner kick.

The goal was Hyde's first of the season and it pushes Wright's point total to nine. Unfortunately the game had to go the full 90 and Angelo reeled off three straight goals with Hanna Horels scoring in the first half and Laura Bateman tallied two in the second half.

The Hyde goal was set up by Wright but the three corners prior to the goal also help set up the goal. Just over ten minutes after the A&M-Commerce goal, Hanna connected on a shot also off a corner kick. It was her first of the season as well. Eva Brutto tried to give the Lions the lead but was turned away by Danielle Edwards, Angelo St's goalkeeper. Tracey Rogers kept the score tied in the 36th minute by keeping a shot by Katie Squires.

In the first 15 minutes of the second half both teams traded corner kicks and shots but none were able get past the goalkeepers. Bateman came on as a sub in the 61st minute then just two minutes later she put away a feed from Ashley Exford to give the Rambelles a 2-1 lead. Bateman scored again in the 75th minute this time getting set up by Trisha Killen to give Angelo St. an insurance goal.

Tareyn Blanton had a chance in the 78th but was turned away by Edwards. The Lions had another chance with a corner to cut into the led but were unable to get a shot off in the 88th minute.

The Lions return to action on Friday October 12 with a home game versus Eastern New Mexico, game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
