Lions Off To Best Start Since 2002
A&M-Commerce knew a fast start would be the key to the 2012 season, and the Lions have come through through the first two weeks of the year. The Lions are 7-1 after the first eight matches, matching A&M-Commerce’s best start since starting 7-1 in 2002, en route to a 9-1 mark through their first 10 matches. A&M-Commerce’s 5-match winning streak was its best to start off the season since a 5-0 start at the beginning of the 2003 campaign and was its longest winning streak since a 14-match run in 2009.
Robertson Ranks Fourth on Lions Kill List; Enters 1,000-Kill Club
Senior middle blocker Rachel Robertson joined an elite club over the weekend, becoming the ninth member of the Lion 1,000-kill club in the win over Ouachita Baptist. Robertson recorded 70 kills over the weekend with a .400 hitting percentage, earning both Tarleton Volleyball Invitational MVP and Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors in the process. At 1,069 career kills, Robertson currently sits fourth all-time in program history, trailing third-place Alice Fortes by 258 kills.
