Meritorious Service - 1970-2005

Walvoord joined the Lion team in 1970 as the university photographer and was a fixture on the Lion sidelines more than 35 years. His photographs of Lion Hall of Famers Jim Dietz, Wade Wilson, Jim Gudger, Ernest Hawkins, Alice Fortes and many others are just a few of the instantly recognizable pictures burned into the memories of Lion fans.

Walvoord worked closely with Hall of Famers Carolyn Brown Burt and Earle Williams to produce multimedia productions for all of the Hall of Fame banquets. He also served as the Director of University News Service. 

A U.S. Army veteran and Peace Corp volunteer, he received his bachelor's degree at the University of North Texas and his master's degree from Texas A&M-Commerce.
