Stalder is a 1986 graduate of then East Texas State University and a four-year letter winner of the Lion's Men's Golf Team, where he was a three-time All-LSC Selection and won the 1984 Sam Houston State Spring Invitational. Stalder has been a member of the Professional Golfers Association since 1992 and has been employed in the business since 1987. He qualified and participated in the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson Golf Classic in 1992 and 1998. Known as one the longest hitters in college golf, Stalder qualified and participated in the 1993 National Long Drive Championship and the 1998 World Long Drive Championship. He is also a lifetime member of the "T" Association, and a member of the A&M-Commerce Alumni Association.
