Burton's Corner

When asked about:
…the Lions performance as a unit…
"I thought we bounced back in a great way. We responded well after losing a tough game to Southern Arkansas. We shot a lot better which has been a struggle for us all year. The fact that we were able to come back and shoot 85% from the free throw line and score some points in transition was a positive for us since we have not done that at a high level yet this year. We really had a focus effort to get the ball to the paint and that translated to us shooting 33 free throws that we converted into points. It is a great team win tonight and a fun group to coach. When six people can score in double figures you definitely have to be happy with that. I am proud of the girls and the team effort they displayed tonight. Everybody came in and played well tonight."
…the effort of the Lions defensively…
"I thought we were really good in our press and it bothered them. We rotated well; the best we have this season so I am proud of that effort. We still have to do better in our half court with pressing up. Letourneau runs some good stuff in the half court so we wanted to press to get out of their half court game. I thought 70 points was too much. We did score 101 points but 70 was more than what we wanted to give up. We have to clean up things there but we are getting better."
…things to take away from this game for future games…
"It was a good game for us to play against Letourneau who does a lot of the same things as Ouachita Baptist who we turn around and play on Tuesday. I am proud of the way we played tonight but we definitely have to learn how to guard better in the half court because that is what were going to have to face on Tuesday."

What's Next

The Lions will take on Ouachita Baptist Tuesday, November 24 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The Lions are 2-9 against Ouachita Baptist in program history.
