Courtney Moore turned in her second complete game shutout of the series to give the Lions the 4-0 win in game two and the first Lone Star Conference series win in A&M-Commerce softball history despite an 8-3 loss in game one Sunday against Eastern New Mexico at the John Cain Family Field.
Moore, who worked a 6-inning complete game shutout in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, extended her scoreless streak to 13 innings with the complete game shutout in game two of Sunday's doubleheader. She went all seven innings and allowed only four hits and one walk while recording three strikeouts.
With Moore holding the Zias at bay and the game scoreless in the bottom of the sixth inning
Baylea Higgs led off with a single to center.
Magen Lynch followed with a bunt single moving Higgs, who moved up to second on a wild pitch, around to third. Lynch alerted swiped second on the play when no one from Eastern New Mexico covered second.
Luci Ponce followed with a rocket single up the middle plating Higgs and Lynch to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.

December Rivers followed with a double drive in Ponce on the play, and
Aundria Romero capped the scoring with an RBI single to left center that drove in Rivers to give the Lions a 4-0 lead.
Moore yielded a one-out walk in the top of the seventh but ended the game with back-to-back fly outs to give the Lions the series win, three games to one.
Rivers when 2-for-2 with and RBI and a run scored, while Lynch had two hits in her three trips to the plate.
The Lions started sluggish in game one giving up two runs in the first inning to the Zias. Ponce answered in the bottom of the frame with a solo homer to right field cutting the ENMU lead down to 2-1.
The Zias strung together three hits and two runs in the top of the third inning, but Ponce answered the bell again the Lions in the bottom half with her second home run of the game. This time she smacked a two-run shot over the centerfield fence to trim the margin down the 4-3 in favor of ENMU.
However, base running miscues plagued the Lions in the final four innings, while the Zias notched a run in the fifth inning, two runs in the sixth and the final run of the ball game in the seventh inning to claim the win, 8-3.
Ponce's two home runs were her only two hits in two official plate appearances after drawing a walk as well. She was responsible for all three Lion runs in the game. Lynch was 2-for-3 and was the only other Lion with multiple hits in the game.
Selena Rima was saddled with the loss after two and two-thirds of an inning of work. She gave up five hits and four runs.
A&M-Commerce will return to action with a nonconference doubleheader Wednesday, March 18 in the John Cain Family Softball Field with first pitch of game one set for 4 p.m. The Lions will head to face No. 1 West Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, March 20 with the first pitch of that four-game LSC series at 5 p.m.
