COMMERCE— The Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball team fell to No. 10 Angelo State University in four sets Saturday afternoon. The Lions battled after losing the first set to win the second but came up short in the final two closely contested sets. The set scores were 17-25, 25-13, 22-25, 22-25.
The loss drops the Lions to 13-11 on the season and 7-6 in the Lone Star Conference. ASU improves to 20-2 on the season and lead the Lone Star Conference with an 11-1 record in conference play.
The Lions will hit the road to face Texas Woman's University on Tuesday night. First serve is at 7 p.m. at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton.

Layne Little led the Lions with 12 kills and she added two blocks.
Jaslyn Wacker had 10 kills with a .500 hitting percentage and led the team with five blocks and two service aces.

Ashley Mireles led the Lions with 22 digs while
Rylie Fuentes had 24 assists.
- There were eight ties and four lead changes in the final two sets.
- Three Rambelles finished with double-digit kills. Brianna Sotello had 15 kills to lead ASU. Mallory Blauser had 13 and Morgan Seaton had 12.
HOW IT HAPPENE
The Rambelles jumped out to a quick lead to start the first set. The Lions had three early hitting errors to aid the ASU cause. The Rambelles led by eight midway through the set.
The Lions attempted a comeback and cut the Rambelle lead to six toward the latter stages of the set. But their attack was thwarted by the ASU defense and multiple errors helped the Rambelles take the first set. They won the first set 25-17.
The Lions had nine hitting errors in the first set. Blauser had six kills and two blocks for the Rambelles in the first set. Tulani Titley had three kills and three blocks. Little and
Jaslyn Wacker each had three kills for the Lions.
The Lion attack began to catch fire in the second set. Little had three kills in the first six points for the Lions as they kept even with the Rambelles early in the set.
A&M-Commerce continued to apply pressure with their attacks, forcing ASU into multiple hitting errors to push their lead to 17-6, rattling off 11 consecutive points.
Jaryn Wacker had three kills during that run and
Jaslyn Wacker added three more to put the Rambelles in an early hole.
Taryn Driver had the hot hand late in the set, with three kills in the final six points. Little had five kills in the second set. The Lions ran away with the second set, 25-13.
The Rambelles regrouped and came out swinging to start the third set, taking seven of the first nine points. Sotello had back-to-back kills during the run.
The Lions clawed their way back into the set with a flurry of kills by Little and Driver. Trailing by five, the Lions went on a 6-0 run to take a 19-18 lead, aided by four consecutive Rambelle errors.
It was a nail biter to close the set. The teams traded points and leads back and forth but it was the Rambelles who were finally able to string together a run to take the third set 25-22.
Jaryn Wacker had four kills in the third set and Little had three. Attack errors reared their ugly head again for the Lions as they had five in the latter stages of the third set.
After trading points in the early stages of the fourth set, ASU strung together a 10-3 run to go ahead 13-7. The teams traded points for much of the set, with the Rambelles holding a seven point lead with just three points left to take the match.
The Lion front line awoke in the latter stages recording five block points to get the Lions back into the game.

Jaslyn Wacker came together for three block points in the final five points for the Lions.
The Lions went on a 7-1 run to close the gap to just one. It wasn't enough as ASU got the final two points and won the final set 25-22.
Blauser had four kills in the final set while teammate had six, scoring four of the final six points for the Rambelles.
Jaslyn Wacker had four kills and a service ace in the final set.
