COMMERCE - After guiding the No. 20 ranked Texas A&M University-Commerce women's golf team to a win in its home tournament, Sophie-Charlott Hempel has been selected as the Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week. 

Hempel (Pirmasens, Germany) finished as the runner up at the Lion Invitational, shooting a 75 in all three rounds and helped the Lions win the tournament by eight strokes. She was also named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week last week. 

The Lions head to the Cactus State to close out the regular season with two tournaments over the next eight days. A&M-Commerce competes in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Arizona, on Friday and Saturday as well as the WT Desert Invitational on April 4-5 in Tuscon, Arizona.

The Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week will be awarded by Lion Athletics each week through the remainder of the academic year.
