COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce men's track and field student-athlete J.T. Smith is tabbed as this week's Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Smith (Klein Oak) sprinted to a school-record time of 6.62 to win the 60 meter dash at the Corky Classic. The time is also second in the region and eighth in the country thus far this season.
 
The Lions set two school records at the Corky Classic, the first meet of the season as members of NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference. They head to Norman, Oklahoma, for the J.D. Martin Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week is awarded by Lion Athletics each week during the academic year.
