Kramarenko and Smith named final Under Armour Student-Athletes of the Week

COMMERCE – Texas A&M University-Commerce track and field student-athletes and Southland Conference champions J.T. Smith and Veronika Kramarenko have been named the final Under Armour Student-Athletes of the Week for the 2022-23 academic year.

Smith (Klein Oak) completed the 100-200 meter dash sweep at the SLC Championships, setting the facility record in the 100 meter dash and the meet record in the 200 meter dash. He was also part of the 4x100 meter relay team, which set a new school, facility, and meet record.

Kramarenko (Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine) cleared 5 feet 10.75 inches (1.80m) to win the Southland title. Her mark is a new school record and second-best in NCAA Division I last week.

Veronika Kramarenko UA of the Week

The Lions ended their first Division I season with a third-place finish on the men's side and a fifth-place finish on the women's side at the SLC Outdoor Championships, which were held in Commerce last weekend.

The Under Armour Student-Athlete of the Week is awarded by Lion Athletics each week during the academic year.
