UIW had the early advantage in the third leading 7-2 and led it late, 19-13. A kill from
Reese Fetty (Farmersville) sparked a 6-0 run for the Lions to tie the set at 19, with
Avery Wilks (Mont Belvieu – Barbers Hill) serving up two aces in the run as well.
The Cardinals got the serve back momentarily, but the Lions answered by taking the next three points, including two kills by

Ellie Baumert (Dodge, Neb.). UIW fought off two set points, but
Gracie Campbell (Klein Oak) delivered a kill for the Lion set win.
UIW won four of the first five points of the fourth, though the Lions used a 3-0 run to take a 7-6 lead, but UIW served back a 5-0 run of its own, leading 11-7. East Texas A&M once again tied the set at 14, but the Cardinals won four of the next five and took the match on a kill by Tehylor Thomas.
