INDIANAPOLIS – East Texas A&M University director of athletics Jim Curry has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Oversight Committee, effective September 30.
 
Curry will serve a four-year term on the FCS Oversight committee, expiring August 2029. The FCS Oversight Committee consists of 18 members from across the country, including one member from each FCS conference. Curry is the Southland Conference representative on the committee.
 
Now in his third year as the director of athletics at East Texas A&M, Curry spearheaded the institution's accelerated reclassification process, achieving full Division I member status and NCAA postseason eligibility one year ahead of schedule.
 
The NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Oversight Committee maintains oversight of championship subdivision football, to include overseeing playing rules, enhancing development of the sport, and addressing strategic initiatives and topics in FCS football. The committee also supervises selection procedures for the FCS Championship, reviews recommendations from the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee, and processes other issues related to the administration of the Division I FCS Championship.
