Kristen Sueltz are this week's Dixie Turman State Farm Agency Student-Athletes of the Week.
Oakmon (Pflugerville) scored three times in the Lions' win over Northwestern State, including the first two touchdowns scored by East Texas A&M in the game. He is tied for 11th in the country for most rushing touchdowns in a game this season and tied for second in program history. He totaled 75 yards in the game as East Texas A&M picked up its first win of the season. Oakmon also earned honorable mentioned Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday as well.
The Lion football team hosts nationally ranked Lamar on Saturday in the Hall of Fame game, presented by Hunt Regional Healthcare, at 6 p.m.
Sueltz (The Colony) played all 180 minutes last week and made her impact felt offensively, scoring in both matches as the Lions went 1-0-1. She delivered the first goal in a 2-0 win on Thursday in the second half against Nicholls, while adding the equalizing goal in the second half on Sunday at A&M-Corpus Christi, as the Lions remained unbeaten in conference play.
The Lion soccer team plays at SFA on Thursday at 7 p.m. and then returns home to host Northwestern State for Senior Day on Sunday at 1 p.m.
