FULLERTON, Calif. – Tatum Wright led off Saturday morning's game with a home run, but the East Texas A&M University softball team fell 7-1 to the Seattle University Redhawks in the Judi Garman Classic at the Anderson Family Field.
To lead off the game, Wright (Frisco – Centennial) drilled a home run to deep left field to put the Lions in front for the first time this weekend. It was Wright's sixth home run of the season, which leads the team.
In the bottom of the first, Karen Spadafora doubled to right center as Mikee Morris scored to tie the game. Sophia Kissling hit an RBI ground out, plating Brooklyn Jones in the second to give the Redhawks their first lead of the game.
Morris hit a two-run triple down the left field line in the fourth as both Kissling and Oona Capristo scored. Avari Morris brought home Morris with an RBI groundout.
The Redhawks added to their lead in the fifth with a solo home run to left by Karen Spadafora and then she reached on a fielder's choice in the sixth as Kissling scored.
Wright went 2 for 3 for the Lions.
Maddie Muller (Frisco – Memorial) pitched the complete game in the circle, being charged with seven earned runs and struck out four.
Kaia Galaviz struck out eight in the win for the Redhawks. She pitched six innings.

The Lions close out the Judi Garman Classic on Sunday with a doubleheader against LMU and Cal starting at 9 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. central.
