COMMERCE – East Texas A&M University track and field student-athletes Cheyne West and Amara Idinna are this week's Dixie Turman State Farm Agency Student-Athletes of the Week. 
 
Both West (Rochester, England) and Idinna (Viry-Châtillon, France) were named the Southland Conference Freshmen of the Year at the indoor conference championships last week. 

West won the 60 meter hurdles title with a time of 7.91 seconds, while also being part of the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:13.26 for fourth. 

Idinna came in second with a mark of 5-7.75 (1.72m) in the high jump and also finished third in the 60 meter hurdles, recording a time of 8.48 seconds. 

The Lion track and field teams begin the outdoor season on March 20-21 at the TCU Alumni Invite.
