COMMERCE – The East Texas A&M University women's golf team closed out its regular season with a 13^th place finish this week in the ULM Invitational at the Bayou Desiard Country Club.
 
ULM won its home tournament by 14 strokes over Samford, though the Bulldogs' Gabi Nicastro shot a tournament-low round of 62 on Tuesday to win the individual medal by two strokes with a total three-round score of 203.
 
The Lions totaled a score of 949 in the three rounds, finishing 22 strokes better than SFA, while being 22 strokes back of UAB.
 
"It was not our best week over in Louisiana," said director of golf Brian Dolehide. "We now have some much-needed practice time coming up over the next week and a half prior to the conference championships."
 
Marie Baertz (Luxembourg) tied for 47^th place with a score of 231 (74-80-77), while Linnea Olsson (Beddingestrand, Sweden) finished in a tie for 64^th place with a score of 236 (81-81-74).
 
Rounding the Lion five, Tais Moreno (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) totaled a score of 238 (80-81-77) to tie for 71^st place, Gimena Errecart (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) took 79^th place with a score of 249 (82-86-81) and Becky Baberg (Asendorf, Germany) tied for 80^th place with a score of 250 (81-82-87).

The Southland Conference Championships are set for April 13-15 at the Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos.
