COMMERCE – The East Texas A&M University softball team dropped Saturday afternoon's series finale by a score of 11-1 in five innings to the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks at the John Cain Family Softball Complex.
The Lumberjacks got off to a 4-0 start in the first as Kyi'Marri Ester hit a grand slam to deep left field. In the second, Jamie Varga plated a run on an RBI double, while a run came around to score on a base hit by Morgan Wright, and Kaylee Paul drew a bases-loaded walk.
In the third, Adelyn Becerra added another run for the Lumberjacks on a sacrifice fly, while Paul drew a bases-loaded walk and Ester hit a two-run single.

Jordyn Ages got the complete-game win for the Lumberjacks. She allowed one earned run and struck out one.
Emma Olsen (Elk Grove, Calif.) got the loss for the Lions, being charged with six earned runs in 1.1 innings.
The Lions have lost 13 in a row and fall to 6-37 overall, while being 1-17 in Southland Conference play. The Lumberjacks are now 6-0 all-time against the Lions, 25-19 overall this season and 9-9 in conference play.

The Lions head on the road for the final time in the regular season at UIW this week. Tuesday's doubleheader in San Antonio is set for a 3 p.m. start.
