COMMERCE – In its second year, Lucky's Reading Program, presented by Solar 76, continued to grow—engaging eight schools and more than 2,200 students across East Texas.
Lucky's Reading Program encourages students to read throughout the year while earning Lion-themed prizes, including free admission to Lion athletic events and visits to the East Texas A&M University Planetarium. The program is designed to inspire a love of reading and highlight the long-term benefits of literacy for local youth.
To celebrate the culmination of the year-long program, Lion student-athletes visited participating schools to connect with students and share lunch, reinforcing the importance of education and community involvement.
As part of the collaborative sponsorship, Signature Solar once again supported Education Days at Lion Basketball. Thanks to their continued commitment, both the men's and women's teams hosted more than 3,000 students this year. The events provided students with the opportunity to experience collegiate athletics firsthand, and both teams secured victories in front of the energized crowd.
"We believe strong communities are built through opportunity, education, and meaningful connection. Seeing Lucky's Reading Program continue to grow and reach more students, more schools, and more families across East Texas, is incredibly rewarding. Programs like this help spark curiosity, build confidence, and create experiences that students carry with them long after the school year ends. We're proud to support initiatives that invest in local schools and strengthen the communities we call home!" - Michelle Wallace, Community & Events Manager for Signature Solar and Solar 76.
