THIBODAUX, La. – The East Texas A&M University softball team fell 8-0 in six innings to close out the series at the Nicholls Colonels on Friday afternoon at Swanner Field.
 
Neither team was able to get a run across in the first, stranding a runner each. In the second, Carmella Muccilli hit a two-run home run to left. Reagan Heflin doubled in a run in the third, while two scored on an infield base hit by Liliana Robledo in the fourth.
 
In the sixth, the Colonels had the bases loaded with no outs with three straight base hits. Heflin drew a bases-loaded walk. After a fielder's choice where the Lions got the out at home, Kayleigh Lugowski hit a two-run double to right center for the walk-off.
 
Nicholls' Averi Paden threw a six-inning no-hitter, while striking out seven. The only baserunner for the Lions was Tatum Wright (Frisco – Centennial) reaching via an error in the first and drawing a walk in the fifth.
 
Maddie Muller (Frisco – Memorial) allowed eight earned runs in 5.1 innings for the loss. Robledo went 3 for 3 went two RBIs and two runs scored for the Colonels.
 
The Colonels won all three games in the series via the run-rule in walk-off fashion. Nicholls improves to 22-16 overall and 10-5 in Southland Conference play, while having won 11 in a row over the Lions, who fall to 6-34 overall and 1-14 in conference play.
