Micah Simpson are the first Dixie Turman State Farm Agency Student-Athletes of the Week for the 2026-27 academic year.
Brown (Conroe) has already been named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week and to the Lion Invitational All-Tournament team. She accumulated 44 kills, three total blocks, and two service aces in 2-1 start for the Lions at home this past weekend, winning in three sets over Texas Southern and in five sets over ULM. The volleyball team heads east to face UAB, Rider, and St. John's in Queens, New York, this weekend.
Simpson (Greenville) starred in his Lion debut with 10 receptions for 165 yards and a touchdown. He is the first Lion to record 100 receiving yards or more in his first game in the blue & gold since at least 2000. The football team begins Southland Conference play at No. 11/13 ranked SFA on Saturday night.
