Anete Randma are this week's Dixie Turman State Farm Agency Student-Athletes of the Week.
Gilbert (Peaster) guided the Lions to a 38-14 win over Northwestern State in their home opener last Saturday, with the Lion defense holding the Demons without a point in the second half, doing so for the second time this year. He led the team with nine tackles, including 2.5 for loss, and a sack. The Lion football team takes on Tulsa at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Randma (Tallinn, Estonia) raced her in first cross country race in two years and finished the five-kilometer race at the Gerald Richey Invitational with a time of 17:34.1, which is a new personal best and fourth at the race. The Lions finished third on the women's side in Fort Worth and are next in action on October 3 at the Southwestern Showdown in Georgetown.
